P. Falvey suspended
PA Greymouth P. Falvey, the rider of Samuelle, the winner of the Ikamatua Stud Maiden, at the Reefton Jockey Club’s meeting _ on Wednesday, was suspended up to and including January 13 for careless riding. Passing the winning post the first time, Danny (Grant Davison), Sweet Afton (Ron • > McCann), and Yson (Danny 1 Frye) and Tracey’s Gold (Maurice Thornley) were crowded when Samuelle improved” around the outside and went to the lead. » Falvey was charged with careless riding in allowing his mount to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear. M. Fleming, the rider of Shetan in the Dominion Hotel Sprint, was fined $lOO for careless riding, also allowing - his mount to shift when not sufficiently clear. Making the bend into the back straight about 900 metres from home, Eureka Lad (W. Stevenson) was checked when Shetan improved around his outside and into the lead. ' In deciding to uphold the careless riding charge, the judicial committee took into account Fleming’s good riding record. - z
