Bridge club licence changed
The Christchurch Contract Bridge Club, Inc, has had its licensed hours rearranged by the Licensing Control Commission to allow its 900 members greater flexibility during tournaments.
Its licensed hours will be: Monday 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. to midnight; Tuesday to Thursday, 10.30 p.m. to midnight. For scheduled tournaments on Fridays and Saturdays, the club’s bar is allowed to open for up to three' hours between 7 p.m. and midnight.
The club has also been allowed up to two licensed hours for tournaments on Sundays, between the end of the tournament and midnight. At the hearing on October 15, the commission heard that the pattern of play at the club had changed since the licence was first issued, and a re-arrangement of hours was needed to allow for more flexibility during tournaments.
