Libyan capital airport closed
NZPA-AP Cairo Libyan authorities ordered the airport in the country’s capital, Tripoli, closed from 10 p.m. (N.Z. time) yesterday, airport sources said. Sources at Cairo’s area control tower said they had received an advisory warning for aircraft to keep
clear of the airport. The sources, who refused to be identified by name, said Cairo Airport received the warning indirectly, from Athens Airport in Greece, because Egypt and Libya had no commercial air links. No reason for the order was given.
