Driving manners

Sir,—l must say that New Zealand has some of the worst drivers that could hold a licence. When one is crossing the road they put their feet down to make you run for your life. They flout all road codes. They lack manners, are arrogant, and feel that owning a car makes them kings of the road. Contempt for pedestrians is the norm. The sooner the police take over traffic control like everywhere else in the world, the better for all. — Yours, etc. ANTHONY FOX. January 7, 1986.
