$21,000 cigarette raid
Burglars made off with cigarettes valued about $21,000 after raiding a warehouse in Belfast, the Papanui C. 1.8. said yesterday. More than 1300 cartons of cigarettes were taken in the burglary at the Dingwall and Paulger warehouse in Belfast Road between
December 24 and 27. The C. 1.8. is particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might have seen suspicious activity at the warehouse on Thursday night, possibly about midnight. A group is believed to be responsible for the burglary.
A C. 1.8. spokesman said that the. burglars might have made several trips to remove the booty. They are believed to have been active at the front of the warehouse and would have been visible from Belfast Road.
