Freeth takes senes lead

PA Wanganui Auckland’s Rodger Freeth took over the series lead but the local hero, Richard Scott, provided the main fireworks at the annual Wanganui Boxing Day cemetery circuit motorcycle meeting yesterday. Scott (Yamaha-FZ 750) turned on a classy display in both wet and fine conditions to take the first two legs of the Wanganui section of the Wynn’s New Zealand international series. In the process he lowered the circuit record to 52s during the second Formuula One race, when chasing Freeth, but he made a serious mistake by opting for slick tyres in the third and final race, which was staged on wet roads.. Eventually Scott braked and down he went.
