Timaru reporter Two American basketball players will play for the Timaru Seahorses team next year. The South Canterbury Basketball Association announced that Jim Du Rose, a 29-year-old 185 cm guard from Washington State, will act as the team’s playercoach in the national second division league next season.
The second American player will not be named until early next year after the association has considered a list of candidates. Du Rose is at present coaching at Concrete, Washington State, passing on his knowledge to junior high school students. He played in New Zealand earlier this year during a brief spell in Wanganui.
