Workshop damaged by fire
An engineering workshop in Carmen Road, Hei Hei, was extensively damaged by fire last evening.
The workshop was in a garage behnd the owner’s house, which was not damaged by the fire.
The owner had gone out for a short time and returned just after 8 ,p.m. to find the workshop alight, said a Fire Service spokesman. Engines from Sockburn and Harewood took about 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The fire was not being treated as suspicious, but fire-safety officers would investigate to find how it started, he said.
