Body of diver found
PA Auckland The body of a diver who failed to surface off Te Arai Point, north of Auckland, at the week-end was found on Monday on rocks about 200 metres from where he was last seen. He was Kevin Mira, aged 30, farm labourer, of Mangawhai. A Welisford police spokesman said a relative of Mr Mira’s found the body in a cove near the place where he disappeared on
Sunday afternoon. ' ■ Divers searching for Mr Mira had earlier found his air bottle and diving weight belt on the sea floor. A light aircraft and ground and sea searches spent most of, the day looking for the missing diver. He had been watched by his girlfriend when he began a dive wearing shorts and a dive bottle about 100 metres offshore. She raised the alarm when he failed to surface.
