JAL crash
The crash of a Japan Air Lines 7475 R (short range) domestic aircraft into the Japan Alps on August 12 caused a heavy fall in demand for domestic air travel in the last weeks of the airlines halfyear. The losses incurred from the accident have not been shown In the half-yearly accounts because the airline says they are difficult to estimate at the mid-year term. International travel showed a- slight increase, and over all the airline’s traffic was up 3.9 per cent in the six months to September 30. Total revenue increased 8 per cent to $3967M.
