Youth tennis teams
Two age group tennis teams have been named to represent Canterbury in the BP national provincial junior teams event A 16 years team will play at North Shore (Auckland) from January 3-13 while the 14 years team will play at Tawa (Wellington) from January 2-6. Eight zone teams will be represented in each event with 64 of the top boys and the same number of girls participating.
The Canterbury teams are:— 16 years: Andrew Batie, Michelle Fox, Mathew Granger,
Tim Howe, Mary Jane Burke, Lee Allen, Jane Cockrane, Karen Mellish. 14 years: Julian Faulls, Phillip Burrows, Brendon Furness, Alistair Hunt, Anne Culhane, Joanne Parish, Rachael Ryan, Amanda Trail.
