Homosexual law changes

Sir,—Should two consenting 16-year-old males be caught indulging in homosexual activity in private, the law demands they immediately be taken to the police station, arrested and charged. They then face the hearing, the trial and sentencing for something that over 30 per cent of males indulge in during adolescence anyway. If the bill is passed with the age of consent at 20, their crime at 16 would no longer exist when they are 20. That incident should have been forgotten, and if there needs to be an age it should be 16. The law’s resources are wasted, and should be spent on crimes. Homosexuality is not a crime. — Yours, etc C. G. A. WILSON. October 23, 1985.
