Honours even at surf life-saving

Honours were evenly spread among several clubs in the second surf life-saving contest of the season held at New Brighton Beach yesterday. Perfect conditions greeted competitors with a light offshore wind and a one to one and a-half metre surf running for most of the contest which was sponsored by Fletcher Steel. It was the last chance for those members of the Canterbury team to get some valuable competition before they leave for Melbourne on January 2. The outstanding individual performer was the promising junior from New Brighton, Peter Walker, who won all the four events he entered, Abbreviations used in the results are: Taylors Mistake (T.M.), Sumner (S), South Brighton (5.8.), New Brighton (N. 8.
