A bouyant economy and imsroved5 roved efficiency helped ames Hardie Industries, Ltd, increase its first half net trading earnings 20 per cent to sAust26.sM. The diversified building products group, which owns 71.75 per cent of James Hardie Impey, Ltd, in New Zealand, achieved the result on sales up .16.8 per cent to $779M. A steady 11c a share (11 per cent) interim dividened has been declared, payable on February 3 on captial increased by the one-for-five bonus issue in August.
