The Christchurch speedboat driver, Peter Knight jun., inspects North-east Express, which arrived this week in Christchurch from the United States. The boat, which has been bought by another leading sprint driver, John Daimanti, of Blenheim, is one of only three Lauderback hydros imported into New Zealand and was formerly an outstanding competitor in the United States. The hydro was damaged in transit but will be repaired in Christchurch before competing in next year’s New Zealand Grand Prix series.
