Fall cost winning ride
Paul Falvey suffered slight concussion and some bruising in a race fall at Riccarton yesterday and was sent to hospital for further observation. He was injured when his mount, Eureka Lad, clipped the heels of another runner and fell in the fourth event, The Amuri. Falvey was stood down for his remaining engagements for the day. Tane Matthews replaced him as rider of Harbor Flo in the final race, the Canterbury 1600, and rode that mare to a decisive win.
