Motor-cyclist’s career at stake
The career of the Christchurch professional motorcycle racer, Brent Jones, has been placed in jeopardy by the recurrence of an eye injury. The injury, which stems from an incident while playing squash more than a year ago, requires emergency surgery. This will force Jones to cut this season’s racing > programme, including the defence
of his national F2 title. “It is not certain just how long I’ll need to rest, and really I won’t know until after the operation exactly what I can expect,” said a disconsolate Jones.
He has been tipped for international motor-cycling success, but will miss at least the bulk of this season’s racing.
He intends to offer his new Yamaha TZ2SO for sale.
