Day trot meetings popular

Betting on day trotting meetings has shown the biggest increase during the first 13 weeks of the current season.

Figures released by the T.A.B. show that up to November 30 day trotting meetings have enjoyed an on-course increase of 10.56 per cent, and an off-course growth of 25.19 per cent. On-course turnover at night trotting meetings declined by 3.16 per cent for the same period, while the over-all result for trotting was an increase of 0.47 per cent on-course and 13.69 per cent off-course. Turnover at galloping meetings during the same period dropped by 3.16 per cent, while off-course figures rose by 3.03 per cent.
