‘Leak source unknown’
Implications of a report in “The Press” yesterday are denied by Mr Neville Young, chairman of the Canterbury-Westland division of the National Party. In a Press Association report from Auckland, Mr Young was said to have been aware of resolutions passed by the party in the Ashburton electorate. Mr Young said yesterday he wished to make it clear that he did not reveal the contents of the resolutions; nor did the reporter disclose them to him. Mr Young
acknowledged that he was aware of the resolutions but declined to comment or to discuss them. “I do not know the source of the leak from the Ashburton electorate and I have, not made or implied any allegation against any person in this connection,” said Mr Young. ; The resolutions referred to in the report yesterday called for the resignation of the party president, Mrs Sue Wood, and the termination of the contract of its secre-tary-general, Mr Barrie Leay.
