Price must include GST, says Govt
PA Wellington The Government has de-
cided that traders must display a price which includes the 10 per cent GST price component once it is introduced in October next year. The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Mrs Shields, said yesterday that consumers had to tie able to ascertain
easily the asking price of any goods they wished to buy.
“The Government is prepared to make this a legal requirement by way of regulations made under the Fair Trading Bill,” Mrs Shields said. “The bill is intended to come into force well before the introduction, of GST.”
