Medical Council as Specialists, for the position of Superintendent-ln-Chief to the Southland Hospital Board. This position is offered as either a full-time appointment or a part-time appointment, with the number of tenths commitment being determined by the Board after consultation with the appointee. The Superintendent-in-Chief is responsible for the efficient direction, control and managment of all matters directly relating to the treatment, clinical care and welfare of the patients in institutions under the control of the Southland Hospital Board. The Southland Hospital Board’s population area is approximately 118,000 of which 54,000 reside in the City of Invercargill. The Board has nine institutions under its control which have a combined total of 783 commissioned beds. The appointee will be based at the Board’s Administration Offices. The Conditions of Employment and salary are in accordance with Health Service Determination No. MlO (Medical Officers.) The salary grading is on the Specialists Automatic Scale, currently NZ552,600 to $66,400 per annum, according to experience.
