Cannabis plants grown up pole
PA Whangarei Potted cannabis plants were found growing on a high-voltage transformer pole from which a young, man fell. In spite of notices warning that the pole was a dangerous electrical hazard, the young Whangarei man climbed to a platform on the twin-pole transformer structure. . i. Ari 11,000-volt electrical flashover hit the man, throwing him more than 4m to the road, and causing a half-hour power blackout to parts of Whangarei. The man was recovering in Whangarei Hospital yesterday, with burns and a fracture. The electrical engineer of the Whangarei City Council, Mr Calvin Whaley, said that it was incredible the young man survived the shock. “My first thought was that he would be dead,” he said. The seven cannabis plants found growing on the transformer platform were about scm high. “I have never seen anything like it before,” he said.
