R. Montgomery suspended
PA Invercargill Robin Montgomery was suspended and Craig Edmond was fined on the second day of the Southland Racing Club’s summer meeting on Wednesday. Montgomery, the rider of Instant Flight in the Tuatapere. Highweight, was found guilty .of careless riding about 200
metres after the start. It was found that he allowed his mount to shift in on to Four Nuts when not sufficiently clear.
Montgomery was suspended up to and including December 7.
Edmond was fined $5O for breaking his contracted riding weight for Gunrest in the Grandstand Handicap. Edmond was one kilogram over the declared weight and Chris Bain was granted permission to substitute.
