Acquittal sets off violence
NZPA-AAP Manila Demonstrators marched in several parts of Manila, built fires in the streets, exploded firecrackers and threw black mourning confetti from office buildings to protest the acquittal of 26 men in the assassination of the opposition leader, Benigno Aquino. On a main Manila street, protesters threw rocks and.,. bottles,at firemen who tried " to put out burning tyres, forcing the firemen to flee. Minor stone-throwing incidents were reported in two other areas of the city. .
