Flowers for ‘model husbands’
NZPA-AP Tokyo The Municipal Federation of Trade Unions in Shenyang, China, has presented 30 men with red flowers for being “model husbands,” China’s Xinhua news agency reported. The agency said Xu Yongrui, a 38-year-old technician who often does laundry and cooking and takes care of the children, was praised for helping his wife become a first-class sanitation worker. A university lecturer, Yang Enxiang, aged 53, another recipient of the title, said he felt husbands had a duty to support their wives in their work. Yang’s wife has won local and national awards for her work as a primary school head teacher, Xinhua said.
