Crofters open all day
The Crofters Restaurant opens for breakfast at 7 a.m. and is open right throughout the day for substantial meals and light snacks. The decor with its heavy Oregon beams and exposed sarking gives a rustic appeal to the restaurant. A buffet selection at breakfast offers chilled juices, fruits, compote, cereals, a hot dish and freshly baked pastries and muffins. Guests can also choose a light continental breakfast, at $7 or a hearty crofters breakfast, at $9.60. An a la carte menu for breakfast is also offered. The menu throughout the day includes salads, soups and a variety of more substantial meals served with potatoes and vegetables or salad from the buffet table. For starters, there is a fresh fruit cocktail at $4.95. Entrees include tossed salad, pate and marinated beef in a red wine sauce served in a brioche. Seafoods include a seafood roulade with spinach, prawns and oysters. Soups and fruit juices are also available. The average price is about $6. The Crofters Restaurant offers 12 main courses to choose from. Fish dishes include sole fried in breadcrumbs, grilled groper steak, John Dory fillets and scallops. These range in price from $11.50 to $12.10. Four types of steak on the menu include ribeye, sirloin, T-bone and fillet — with varying types of sauces. The chicken is wrapped in phyllo pastry with camembert cheese and chopped chives. Lamb kebab and grilled lamb chops and a traditional roast is also offered. These meals range in price from $12.60 to $15.25. The vegetarian selection includes fresh fruit, cottage cheese and marinated fresh vegetables, priced at $12.15. Roast beef, chicken or ham is also offered with a salad from the buffet table. Desserts include chocolate and hazelnut mousse, apple strudel, fruit salad, creme caramel, gateau and ice cream. They are mostly priced at about $5.30.
