Spacious suites offer luxury

No expense has been spared to make staying at the Cotswold Inn a luxurious and memorable experience. The 16 luxury suites presently available are all very spacious. The decor is reminiscent of past times with finely carved mahogany furniture, brass fittings and plush lounge suites. Yet every modern facility is available — S.T.D./I.S.D. phones, colour television and video, radio, heating and a stocked mini-bar in the refrigerator. A large leather-bound compendium lists shops and services that both the inn and Christchurch city offer, as well as stationery for use by guests. The suites, which have wall to wall carpeting, come in four colours: blue, beige, pink and green. The doors are made of a dark rich wood, and the subtle wallpaper is of high quality. Heavy curtains ensure complete privacy and comfort. The lounge, which is large enough for business meetings, is also designed for relaxation. A plush, comfortable lounge suite complements a large table with carved and upholstered chairs — ideal for working on. Dark wooden beams stretch across the ceilings in the lounge and bedrooms. An archway leads into the master bedroom, which has ample wardrobe and drawer space. The Cotswold offers two-

bedroom and one-bedroom suites. That is, each suite has a master bedroom and some have additional twin beds.' The couch in the lounge can also be expanded into a double bed, so a maximum of six people can be accommodated in a suite. Each bed has a “thermo” mattress and is covered with a duvet of fine down and feathers. The master bedrooms have queen-sized beds. The marble-toned bathrooms have both a bath and shower, and the handrails and taps are made of brass. Tea and coffee making facilities are available as well as a mini-bar in each suite. The Cotswold Inn operations manager, Miss Lesley Wilhelm, said that the suites are ideally suited to meet the needs of businessmen and travelling sales representatives. “There is plenty of room for meetings, for showing samples of clothes or furniture, or to hold interviews or seminars for staff,” she said. The inn can easily arrange for lunches, meals or even cocktail parties for guests entertaining in their suites. The Cotswold Inn details its services to guests in a booklet included in the compendium. A courtesy van can collect guests from the airport and is available to transport guests to other points in the city. Reception can arrange for babysitters and taxis. The receptionist is pleased to assist guests with any particular arrangements or requests. •
