N.Z. to be host for big song contest
PA Wellington New Zealand next year will be host to the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union song contest featuring entertainers from 46 countries. Mr Allan Martin, Direc-tor-General of Television New Zealand, said the contest would be screened live from the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington to the 46 countries on October 25.
It had a potential audience of two-thirds of the world’s population. “It is an honour for New Zealand to be selected for this prestigious event,” Mr Martin said. The union is the broadcasting organisation for countries in the Asia and Pacific basin area, including China, Egypt, Australia, India, Japan and New Zealand.
