PA Wellington An Auckland-based manufacturer and merchant, James Hardie Impey, Ltd, has lifted its interim profit by 15 per cent to $5,937,000 ($5,153,000) for the six months ended September 30. Extraordinary losses of
$79,000 ($123,000) cut the total profit to $5,858,000 ($5,030,000). Turnover was S92M (S76M), up 21 per cent. Tax took $3,694,000 ($2,211,000). The interim dividend will be 5c a share, to be paid on January 13. Books close on January 6.
