Public Notices HURUNUI DISTRICT NOXIOUS PLANTS AUTHORITY PROPOSED DISTRICT NOXIOUS PLANTS PROGRAMME A PROPOSED control programme for designated noxious plants has been adopted by this authority. It is intended this programme will come into effect on April 1, 1986. Under the requirements of Section 36 of the Noxious Plants Act 1978, occupiers of land within the County are invited to comment or object to the proposed programme. Such comments or objections may become part of the district programme after due consideration by the District Noxious Plants Authority. The following is the list of noxious plants: CLASS A: Johnson Grass, Water Hyacinth, Water Lettuce, Salvlnia, Cape Tulip. CLASS B: “Target” Plants African feather grass, Barberry, Plumeless thistle, Variegated thistle, White-edged nightshade. "Widespread” Plants Blackberry, Boxthorn, Broom, Gorse, Hawthorn, Hemlock, Montpellier broom, Nodding thistle, Ragwort, White Broom. “Surveillance” Plants Bathhurst bur. Full details relating to enforcement and occupiers’ obligations to control plants under the proposed programme maybe obtained from the Council offices at Amberley and Walkalrl. Copes of the proposed programme are abvallable upon request.
