New home for dairy goats

Dairy goats at the Canterbury show will be housed in a new building at the north-

western end of the showground. The building, capable of holding comfortably more than 100 goats, has been built as a joint venture between the Canterbury Dairy Goat Breeders’ Association and the Canterbury A. and P. Association. The steel kitset building was erected by voluntary labour. The shed will be used by the association to stage other dairy goat shows during the year. The president, Mr Ray Messervy, of Amberley said the building would be a permanent “home” for goat shows. Breeds on display at the show will include Toggenburg, British Alpine, Saanen and Nubian.
