Safety measures at fireworks
Extensive safety measures are planned for a fireworks extravaganza at Queen Elizabeth II Park tomorrow evening. The manager of the park, Mr Peter Francis, said that all spectators would be seated at least 20 metres away from the display, which would feature several animated displays using a range of unusual fireworks. The Fire Service and St
John Ambulance Brigade would be present in case of any accident, he said. The show’s creator, Mr Anthony Lealand, said that all the displays had been tested at the Army rifle range at West Melton for safety. “Safety is very much in my interests because if there were an accident, the first person to be hurt would be me,” he said.
