Winning wrestlers
The New Zealand wrestling team ended its overseas tour with narrow victories over two of the top clubs in Switzerland recently. Both wins were achieved with a two-point advantage. Graeme Hawkins, Murray Shore and the biggest man in the team, Robert Algie, suffered defeats against the second ranked Swiss club, Enseildeln. However, all three wrestlers avenged those setbacks with victories when New Zealand beat the third-ranked club, Friamnt, by the same scoreline. On that occasion, the man in the lightest weight division, Shane Stannett, went down, as did Stephen Bell and Zane Coleman. Grant Parker, in the 90kg class, was injured and did not compete in either match.
