Canterbury Romney Breeders FIELD DAY The Canterbury Romney Club invite you to a Field Day to be held at Lincoln College in Room 12 on the 6th November at 1 p.m. The object of the day is to show that amongst all the doom and gloom in the sheep industry, at present there are some bright spots. The growing of heavy weight lambs ($5O per lamb is obtainable) and high wool production per sheep must hold the key to the future of our industry. The day will cover the breeding, feeding and management required to achieve these goals. Speakers include: Mr Athol Hutton, Managing Director, Waitaki N.Z.R. Mr Chris Ward, Livestock Development, Waitaki N.Z.R. Mr Chris Newton, Meat Board. Mr Dennis Eividge, Lincoln College. Mr W. Carter, Wool Exporters Council. Mr Barry Wilkinson, Lincoln College. A discussion on Ram selection will be held, with examples of modern Romney sires being on show. Carcase demonstrations will be given by a qualified Waitaki supervisor. A panel discussion will conclude the day.
