M.A.F. post
A new assistant director general to the M.A.F. is Mr Malcolm Craig, formerly a top executive with the Department of Trade and Industry. He succeeds Mr John Belgrave who has become comptroller of Customs. Mr Belgrave was responsible for the M.A.F.’s fisheries management, fisheries research and economics divisions.
Mr Craig has been assistant secretary, trade services since 1980. He was educated at Wellington College and Victoria University, and joined the Department of Trade and Industry in 1953. He has held overseas posts in Tokyo, Bangkok, Melbourne and Baghdad, and in 1979 was appointed director of industrial development for the department.
