Company to drop cost of fertiliser
PA Auckland The Auckland-based company, Fanners Fertiliser, Ltd, says it will drop the price of superphosphate 6.3 to 6.5 per cent, or $10.75 a tonne, from November 1. Other manufactured products containing imported ingredients would also be reduced, said Mr Peter Biddell, the managing director of Feamz Corporation, Ltd,
the parent company of Fanners Fertiliser. "The price reductions are possible because of lower raw material costs brought about by the improved value of the New Zealand dollar.” The 25 per cent increase which took effect on August 1 increased the price of a tonne of superphosphate from about $136 to between $165 and $l7O. .
