The man was charged that on May 3 this year he stole a Transam Pontiac, valued at ?60,000, and a Chevrolet Camaro, valued at 550,000, the property of the New Zealand Government.

Stallard, for the defendant, consented to the withdrawal and successfully applied for the interim order for the suppression of his client’s name to be made final.

The man made his first appearance in the District Court on May 4 and on May 28 elected trial by jury.
