Poster for peace competition
A children’s poster competition on the theme “Children and Peace” is being run by the Y.W.C.A. to combine the anniversary of Unicef with the International Year of Peace next year. Children usually had a very innovative and interesting attitude towards peace and peace issues, said the projects co-ordinator and youth resource officer at the Y.W.C.A., Mr Nigel Grimshaw-Jones. Adults could often be inspired by a child’s frank and clear feelings, he said. The Competition is being
run through Christchurch intermediate and primary schools in two categories, eight to 10, and 11 and 12. The posters will be displayed in the Canterbury Public Library from December 9 to 14. They will be judged by Mr Evan Webb, of the Canterbury Society of Arts, and the prizes awarded by the Wizard on'Saturday, December 14, between 10.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
Judging will be based on originality, imagination, feeling, and technique!?
