Superstitions about opening umbrellas indoors do not bold mucb water for Sam Britten, aged two. After dodging raindrops to reach the shelter of the domestic passenger terminal at Christchurch Airport last evening, Sam and his mother were surprised to
find water cascading from several cracks in the ceiling.
Alterations on the second floor were responsible for the leaks.
While airport staff busied themselves placing big bins on the floor to catch the water, Sam decided to take the matter into his own hands—with the help of his mother’s umbrella.
