Full-time darts on Govt grants
NZPA-PA London Jobless Chris Johns has set himself up in business as a professional darts player — with the aid of Government grants. He has been given £lOOO ($2620) under the Youth Business Initiative Scheme so he can buy a car to travel to darts contests, and has " been guaranteed £4O a-sweek from the
Government’s Enterprise Allowance scheme to buy petrol and overnight accommodation. ' Mr Johns, of Aberdare, mid-Glamorgan, said: “Without the cash from the Government I just wouldn't be able to play darts full-time. .‘Td still be idling ,my time away in the valleys searching in vain for work that doesn’t exist.' 4
