Triathlon again popular
Five months before the event, entries have closed for the Steinlager Coast-to-Coast triathlon.
Mr Robin Judkins, the organiser of the event which has enjoyed a spectacular rise in popularity, said entries for the individual section were filled in four weeks, and the team section was filled in eight weeks. Individual entries have been restricted to 150 and two-person team entries to 100. The event will be held on February 1 and 2 next year. The race started in 1983 with 79 competitors. In 1984 there were 140, and last year the figure more than doubled to 321. Mr Judkins now has a waiting list for the 1986 event of 85 individuals and 30 teams.
