University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC SENIOR LECTURER/ READER IN TECHNOLOGY POST 85/51 MINIMUM qualifications, a Masters degree in Industrial Education, Industrial Technology or equivalent. A doctorate degree with teaching experience in a Post-Second-ary Technical programme is desired. Administrative experience would be considered as a positive asset. The successful candidate will work as head of a five staff team responsible for teaching Industrial Arts Education, Vocational Education and a new Technology Programme at degree level. Preference will be given to candidates qualified to teach in the areas of Engineering Technology, Industrial Process, Industrial Planning) Organisation and Management. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience in the Senior Lecturer scale: F 519,525—22,815 or Reader scale: F 525,594-27,752. The University currently receives aid funds to pay additions, to salary as an inducement to staff from Australia and New Zealand, who are appointed ' to posts designated for this purpose. This post has been designated for payment of inducement allowance, details of which are available from the Registrar. In addition, the University provides gratuity amounting to 15 per of basic salary, appointment allowance and, subject to the University’s current housing policy, partly furnished accommodation at a rental of 1214 per cent of salary. The University will contribute a sum equivalent to 10 per cent of the appointee’s salary towards his superannuation obligations. Jft Massey....../.. ® University LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN FARM MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for the above position in the department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management. The Department offers a wide range of courses in farm and horticultural management and related subjects, including rural valuation and extension. While the basic requirement is an ability to teach in the management courses, opportunities exist to teach in other areas of interest. Staff members are encouraged to undertake research, and the Department has an active research programme covering many aspects of agricultural and horticultural production systems. A number of staff have a major involvement with the operation of University farms. Opportunities also exist for staff to undertake study for additional qualifications. Applicants should hold an appropriate degree in agriculture, with some experience in teaching, research, extension, farming or commerce. THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND PROFESSOR OF AGRONOMY The University of New England invites applications for the Chair of Agronomy. The appointee will become Head of the Department of Agronomy and Soil Science for an initial period of five years. The University is situated in rural surroundings within reach of diverse agricultural systems, ranging from sub-tropical horticulture through temperate pasture to dryland and Irrigated crop production and grazing. In addition to the service which it provides to Australian agriculture the Department makes a substantial contribution to agricultural training and research in developing countries.
