Bealey Avenue trees
Sir,—l support Mr Surtees* re- ! commendation to remove trees in Bealey Avenue, and narrow the'median strip. I travel that route' every night and the existing free* turn from Fitzgerald Avenue al-’ ready allows me to complete- a four-wheel slide with relative safety, although I have noticed; over the last few months other cars have managed to wipe out the* traffic controls and neighbouring fences on several occasions. No, doubt there are alternative ways to; facilitate traffic flow, but I love; the roar of bikes and cars without’ mufflers and widening Bealey Avenue to three lanes each side* will speed up the traffic considerably.—Yours, etc., DENNIS LAMBERTON. October 10, 1985.
