NZPA-AAP Canberra France would be quizzed about reports that people involved in the sinking of the Greenpeace vessel Rainbow Warrior in New Zealand had operated out of Sydney, said the Acting At-torney-General, Senator Gareth Evans, this week.
The Australian Ambassador in Paris had been asked to take the matter up with the French Government, Senator Evans told Parliament
Norfolk Island authorities had been in touch with the Australian Attorney-Gen-eral’s department about the possible extradition of crew members from the yacht Ouvea to New Zealand, he said, in reply to a question by the Australian Democrat leader, Senator Don Chipp. This was how the department had first learned that New Zealand police were on the island.-
