New softball tourney
A new softball tournament, the Countdown Softball Classic, will be held in Christchurch next year. Sponsored by Countdown Foodmarkets, Ltd, the tournament will be open to all se nl °r men’s club teams in the South Island. ..! Countdown is sponsoring the Burnsite, senior men’s side for
the first time this season, and part of the package includes sponsorship for the tournament. Mr Graeme Anderson, the Burnside players coach, said that the strength of the Canterbury and South Island softball was constantly improving, and tournaments such as this would lift standards.
