Special correspondent Hastings Masterton cup candidate, Our Boyfriend, worked over a round at three-quarter pace at Hastings yesterday, coming from the 1200 m in lmin 30.55, the last 600 in 45.25. He looks ready for a big effort tomorrow. A bold showing by Our Boyfriend at Masterton will
almost certainly confirm his trip to Australia later in the month, for the Melbourne Cup. Tommo’s Tornado and Noggin ran 1000 m in lmin 2s, the last 600 in 38.1 s and both looked to be hitting out well at the finish. They are rivals in the Members Handicapv. at Masterton tomorrow.
