Ambassador appointed
PA Wellington New Zealand’s Acting High Commissioner in London, Mr Bruce Brown, has been appointed Ambassador to Thailand. Mr Brown, who was appointed Deputy High Commissioner in London in 1981, has been Acting High Commissioner since the death of Mr Joe Walding in June.
Until a successor to Mr Walding is announced, Mr Brown will be succeeded by his deputy, Mr Neil Walter, said a spokesman for the Prime Minister, Mr Lange. Mr Brown, aged 55, will be resident in Bangkok and accredited Ambassador to Burma, Laos and Vietnam.
