‘Tonight Show Matchmaker’ re-introduced
“Matchmaker,” the successful, free introductory service for people over 17 years is back on Radio New Zealand’s “Tonight Show” in a new time slot. Three years ago, Radio New Zealand’s “Tonight Show Matchmaker” became an immediate success and the programme’s producers have heard from several couples who have either married or intend to as a result of taking part in the programme. From early tomorrow, the “Tonight Show” will be running a new series of “Tonight Show Matchmaker.”
The producer, Ms Maureen Sinton, says it is intended that three calls will be taken on Tuesday and Thursday mornings be-
tween midnight and 1 o’clock. “Not only does ‘Matchmaker’ have marriage as its goal, the programme has, since its inception, provided many people with com-| panionship and the confidence to get out and meet new people,” she says. Those taking part will be asked questions regarding life-style, appearance, likes and dislikes, attitudes to life and expectations. Listeners can then write to any of the callers who “interest them.” People wishing to be involved in the programme will be able to do so by calling “Tonight Show Matchmaker” between midnight and 1 o’clock on Tuesday and Thursday morning, Wellington (04) 736-888.
