Homes agree to accept A.I.D.S. patients
NZPA-AP Baltimore Several Maryland nursing homes have agreed to accept A.I.D.S. patients as part of the state Health Department’s effort to assure placement of individuals with the deadly syndrome, the state Health Secretary said. Adele Wilzack said the staffs of the nursing homes would also be trained in
caring for the patients of acquired immune deficiency syndrome, which leaves victims vulnerable to infections by attacking the system that normally fights off infection. The Health Department will also set aside SUS4O,OOO ($76,000) to place 20 A.I.D.S. patients in individual foster care homes for a year.
