Move over Hollywood ...

I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and last week Greymouth started its celebrity walk of fame outside the Regent Theatre. I was delighted to be asked to be the first New Zealander to leave foot and hand prints in the cement. This was all the idea of their switched-on public relations officer, Merryn Cor-

coran. Next to leave his mark on the Greymouth walk of fame will be Billy T. James — move over Hollywood. By the way, the British film industry has just started its celebrity pavement outside London’s Leicester Square Theatre. First to leave their hand prints were Dame Anna Neagle and Omar Sharif. Richard Carpenter, brother of the late Karen Carpenter, is hoping to put together a three-hour television special about his sister. He is also hoping that “Remington Steel” star Stephani Zimbalist will play Karen, who died of anorexia nervosa.

Talk about keeping things in the. family. When Dennis Weaver makes his first guest appearance in 10 years on f ‘Magnum PI” his son, Rick, will direct the segment. Now if that’s not enough, his youngest son, Rusty, will play his television son ana both will sing a duet which his sister wrote.

Matt Lattanzi, Olivia Newton John’s husband, is now testing his ability bn the stage. His theatre debut is in West Hollywood at a dinner theatre. Lattanzi plays the part of an entrant

in an Elvis Presley countrymusic look-alike contest.

Little Charlene Tilton will be back on “Dallas” next season after the producers of the show received millions of letters asking for her return after she had been sacked from the soapie. I hear that her character will undergo an incredible change. She will play a more mature person and marry within the first six episodes. Barbara Bel Geddes played a very important part in getting her back on the show. After meeting with the show’s producers when she returned to the show, Barbara Bel Geddes asked why they had written Lucy out and that she should be in the next series. I met Charlene Tilton a few years back and in real life she is a great person full of life and only ready to say good about all her co-workers. That is something you rarely find in tinsel town these days, she’s a breath of fresh air!

If you are a “Dallas” fan then there is a book you will just have to have. It’s the official “Dallas” book of trivia. You can get it here in New Zealand and it tells you just everything you will ever want to know about the show.

Joan Collins is now in the south of France putting the finishing touches to her mini

series, “Sins.” Her co-pro-ducer is her live-in lover, Peter Holm. While she is in France, Aaron Spelling’s accountants are going mad with their calculator trying to work out who to kill off in “Dynasty” so they can trim the wage budget. But, on the other hand, they have just offered Barbara Stanwyck $75,000 for one day’s work in “The Colbys” the “Dynasty” spin-off series.

Linda Evans is very worried about some of the kissing scenes she had to do with Rock Hudson now that is has been made public he has A.I.D.S. Nobody knew at the time he was working on “Dynasty” so no precautions were taken.

Elizabeth Taylor’s ex, Dennis Stein does not give up easily. He is still sending her a weekly bouquet of silk flowers from an exclusive shop in Beverly Hills. He only sends her shades of violet and lavender to match her eyes. The reason for silk flowers? Simple, they will never die, just like his love for her. Maybe she should send him a bunch of dead real flowers, if she really wants to get rid of him for good — just a thought.

Suzanne Somers wants to become a star, or I should say a super star. She and her manager husband have bought their own hotel in

Las Vegas where she will perform as the star of the show because no other hotel in town was interested in putting her act on. I guess if you can’t beat them! Jerry Lewis has been

awarded the Distinguished Public Service Medal. It was presented to him at the Beverly Hilton Hotel by his old pal, Sammy Davis jnr. And that’s Hollywood for this week!
